Energy bars are becoming increasingly popular. They're being promoted not only by bloggers but also by leading Polish athletes. And that's a good thing – energy bars provide energy, are a rich source of many nutrients, and are a truly tasty and healthy snack. Many fans of these "sweets" will surely be pleased to know that they can be made at home. Here are two recipes for homemade energy bars that you're sure to love.
Why energy bars?
Energy bars are best friends for many people. They're well-known to competitive athletes , such as cyclists, long-distance runners, walkers, and mountain climbers. They're also increasingly used by athletes from other sports disciplines, as well as by those who simply need an energy boost. Energy bars are therefore useful not only at the gym, but also during vacations, trips, conferences, or a busy day at work. They also have another great advantage: unlike chemical-based products, they're made from natural ingredients and can be easily prepared at home.
How to make an energy bar?
Energy bars, like most products available in stores, can be made at home—all you need is a good recipe. While they may not be as pretty as their factory-made counterparts, they're certainly just as tasty and, most importantly, 100% healthy and lower in calories! There are basically two methods of preparing energy bars.
- In the first case, the prepared and mixed mass is cooled in the refrigerator until it solidifies.
- In the second case , "hardening" occurs as a result of baking.
Of course, everything depends on the ingredients used and the required temperature resistance – chilled bars will "melt" much faster on a hot day. However, it's worth noting that some products lose some of their nutritional value after baking. Both recipes have their pros and cons , and the key to success is choosing the right ingredients.
Recipe for a sweet energy bar
The sweetest snacks are, of course , sweet energy bars. To make them, you'll need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups of nuts -
hazelnuts and/or earth - 4 cups of oatmeal
- 4 fresh bananas
- 2 cups dried dates -

- 1 glass
- 1 cup of honey
- 1 cup peanut butter -

Chop or chop the individual ingredients and mix. Finally, add the honey and peanut butter. If desired, you can add cocoa powder, cinnamon, or other spices. If the mixture is too stiff, add a little water. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes at 150°C (300°F). After baking, cut into smaller pieces – bars.

Recipe for a savory no-bake energy bar
The word "bar" often conjures up associations with sweet products. However, it's worth noting that delicious energy bars can also be made in a more savory version. How? Here's the solution – you'll need:
- 20 dried figs -

- 1 cup of pistachios -

- ½ cup of toasted sesame seeds -

- ½ cup of goji berries -

- 4 teaspoons of spirulina -

- 1 teaspoon agar -

As with the sweet bar, here we also mix and optionally chop the ingredients one by one. Spread everything evenly and refrigerate for 3-4 hours . Once chilled, we can cut out the finished bars from the mixture.
