Matcha accessories and shopping
If you drink matcha, sooner or later you will need a chasen. It is a bamboo whisk with 100 thin tines, which the Japanese have been using for centuries to prepare matcha. You cannot dissolve matcha powder with a spoon, as clumps will always remain. In just a few seconds, a chasen turns it into a smooth brew with a delicate foam.
A few tips to make your chasen last a long time. Before preparing, soak the tines in warm water for a moment to soften them. Whisk quickly, using a zigzag motion in the shape of an "M" or "W", rather than in circles. Finally, rinse it with water only, without dish soap, and set it aside to dry. It is not dishwasher safe.
For shopping, our cotton bag with the inscription "Healthy body, healthy food" will come in handy. It is 3–4 times more spacious than a regular one, so you can fit jars, vegetables, and bread in it all at once.
