Dried fruits

Dried apricots, plums, dates, grapes .... and even more goodness can be found in our store ekogram.pl! Because what would life be without sweets? However, it is important to pamper your palate with reason and choose sweets that will serve your health!

In our assortment you will find a wide selection of natural dried fruits, without unnecessary preservatives and with a certificate confirming the ecological origin of the products. Ekogram dried fruit is 100% fruit in fruit. So you can be sure that we offer you a product of the highest quality.

How are dried fruits made?

Our fruits are made thanks to the drying process consisting in the evaporation of water, which constitutes more than 80% of the fruit. This process can take place naturally, meaning that the fruit is dried directly in the sun, but often special devices called dehydrators are used to speed up the cycle. Both of these processes cause the fruit to change its volume, shape, color and taste.

At this stage, we must point out that none of these drying processes result in loss of nutritional value compared to fresh fruit. We are even ready to say that dried fruit contains more of them, because the change in volume causes the condensation of vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. As a result, in 100 g of dried fruit we will find much more valuable nutrients than in 100 g of fresh fruit.

Did you know that the tradition of drying fruit has been known to mankind for centuries and was practiced as early as 2000 BC? This method of preserving food to this day allows you to keep products longer and enjoy the taste of summer fruit even in the middle of the coldest winter.

Dried fruit - natural and ecological

In our organic health food store you can buy the best quality dried fruits such as: raisins , dates , figs , goji berries , apricots , mangoes , plums , cranberries , pineapples , mulberries , as well as more mysterious fruits, such as physalis or baobab .

All our fruits come from proven, certified organic farms, which do not use artificial fertilizers, GMOs or glyphosate, which makes them stand out with a deep, natural taste and distinctive aroma.

Dried fruit - unsulphurized

Ekogram dried fruits are UNSULFUR, which means that they have not been preserved with E 220 sulfur dioxide, which is a by-product of burning fossil fuels. We are sad to see that most fruits commonly available in stores contain sulfur, and we consider the process itself, which aims to preserve the original color of the fruit, to be completely unnecessary and even potentially harmful to health. Fortunately, you will not experience this with us, because our main mission is to provide you with healthy and natural products of the highest quality!

What can you use dried fruit for?

You can snack on our dried fruits during the day whenever you feel like something sweet. Dried dates or unsulphured apricots are a high-energy snack that puts you back on your feet after an intense workout or other physical or mental effort.

Raisins and goji berries, considered superfoods, can be an excellent addition to oatmeal, millet, buckwheat, flakes with plant milk, cocktails, baked goods or vegan, raw cakes.

You can decorate desserts, ice cream, waffles, pancakes and cakes with dried fruit. Cook dried fruit compote, add dried fruit to tea or instead of candy, give them to your child's friends.

Use cranberries, figs or plums as an ingredient in savory dishes, e.g. roasted meats, bigos, sauces, stews and salads. You can sweeten home-made vegetable milk with a sweet date, and choose dried bananas as a crunchy snack instead of chips or popcorn for an evening movie screening at home.

In our offer you will also find less common dried fruits, such as physalis or baobab. Both of these plants with exotic names are a real rarity and a vitamin and mineral bomb. Check how they taste and decide for yourself in what form you will enjoy them.

How to store dried fruit?

Dried fruit is best stored at room temperature, in a dry and shaded place, away from sources of heat and moisture. To limit the access of air, additionally buy airtight containers or weck jars, which will keep the freshness and shelf life of the fruit for a long time. Do not mix different types of fruit in one package, because then they can spoil faster. Properly stored dried fruit can be eaten for up to 12 months.

Can dried fruit be frozen?

Freezing dried fruit is a good way to preserve their freshness and high taste values for up to 2 years. Remember, however, to pack the fruit tightly in plastic bags and get rid of excess air before closing them.
