ORGANIC Blanched Hazelnut Butter – all the mellow side of the hazelnut

You know our classic hazelnut butter? This is its gentler sister. We roast the hazelnuts first, then strip off their skins the moment they come out of the roaster – and it's the skin that carries the characteristic bitterness and that bold, dark-cocoa-like edge. Only the pure nut goes into the mill: what's left is a sweet, buttery flavour and a lighter, exceptionally creamy colour. No sugar, no milk powder, no palm oil.

The ingredients list? One line: organic blanched hazelnuts.

No skins – so who is it for?

If classic hazelnut butter feels a little too intense or too bitter for you, this is your version. The milder taste also wins over children and anyone who makes their own spreads, desserts and ice cream: a pale, skin-free butter gives you a cleaner base, doesn't cut across the flavour with bitterness, and pairs beautifully with cocoa, vanilla or fruit. And if you love the bold, deep character the skins bring, our classic hazelnut butter is waiting on the shelf right next to it.

Roasting makes all the difference

A raw hazelnut is nothing special. It takes roasting to draw out that deep, lightly caramel aroma you know from good desserts. We roast in one of the most advanced nut roasters in the world and control the process down to the degree – which is why our hazelnut butter smells of nuts, not of burnt skins. And in this version we go one step further: the freshly roasted nuts are rubbed free of their skins before they ever reach the mill. Only the best part is left.

Oil on top? Everything's fine

Hazelnuts contain 63 g of natural fats per 100 g, so a few weeks after production a layer of oil may separate out on the surface. This is completely normal in every one of our 100% nut butters and has no effect on quality. Just stir it through thoroughly before use. And if your jar hasn't separated at all – congratulations, you've got an especially fresh batch.

Prefer a thicker consistency? Keep the jar in the fridge.

Turkish hazelnuts – from one regular supplier

Turkey's Black Sea coast is the hazelnut capital of the world – the climate there produces nuts with a full, clean aroma. Our hazelnuts come from a single, trusted supplier we've worked with for years, so every batch tastes just as good as the last. We know the origin of every single sack of nuts that comes through our doors.

The Ekogram nut butter factory

In 2015 we made Poland's first 100% nut butter – no palm oil, no salt, no sugar. Blazing the trail was fun, though it wasn't easy – awareness of products like this was very low back then, and we had to explain to practically everyone why the butter separates and why you need to stir it before use.

We've been modernising our plant ever since, and in 2025 we moved into a new factory in Cikowice near Kraków. All these years on, we're still a family business – and we mean that literally: almost our entire family works at Ekogram. Our standards keep rising, but we have no plans to turn into a food conglomerate :)

This is where we fired up our new nut roaster – the best roasting technology in the world. As far as we know, there's simply nothing better you can buy. Thanks to it, the nuts in our butters are roasted perfectly and evenly – nothing scorched, nothing underdone. That's exactly why our butters taste so consistent, jar after jar.

Roasting, grinding and packing – it all happens here, under one roof. We have full control over the process from the first nut to the moment the lid is screwed on, and more than 10 years of experience really does pay off.

Organic certification – good for you and for the planet

Our blanched hazelnut butter is a certified organic product, PL-EKO-03. That's your guarantee of controlled sourcing – the Turkish hazelnuts come exclusively from certified organic farms, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers. You eat exactly what you see on the label.

A glass jar – because it's the honest choice

Perfect packaging may not exist, but glass comes closest. It protects hazelnut butter well, passes nothing into it, and once empty the jar lives on – for spices, preserves, or in the recycling bin.

Details can be boring, but it's worth reading more about this before you eat anything.

It's the same product. The name "peanut butter" is a colloquial term for nut paste. Other names like cream and mousse are used interchangeably. According to regulations, the term "butter" is reserved for dairy products, so you won't find it on the label. We also use the name "paste" to describe multi-ingredient recipes that include, for example, coconut pulp or dates in addition to nuts.

This is a completely natural phenomenon and the best proof that the paste does not contain stabilizers or hydrogenated fats. The oil layer protects the contents of the jar and helps preserve the product's qualities for longer. Do not pour it out – simply stir the paste vigorously with a spoon to restore it to a smooth, creamy consistency.

Ideally, at room temperature, in a closed cupboard or drawer, away from sources of heat and light – then the paste will maintain a fluid, creamy consistency. You can keep it in the refrigerator, but it will become harder and more solid. Use a clean, dry spoon for scooping.

The simplest way is with a spoon straight from the jar or on a slice of bread. It also works well in oatmeal and millet porridge, as a topping for pancakes, waffles, and griddle cakes, in smoothies and shakes, in sauces and dips, in baked goods, and as an ingredient in energy bars and homemade power balls.

Our 100% nut butters contain only nuts and nothing else. We do not add sugar, salt, palm oil, emulsifiers, or stabilizers. In multi-ingredient recipes, sweetness comes from natural ingredients such as dates or agave nectar. The full list of ingredients can always be found on the label and in the product description.

This is most often the result of low-temperature storage. Take the jar out of the fridge 30–60 minutes before use and stir the contents thoroughly. You can also transfer a portion to a bowl and gently heat it – the paste will immediately return to a liquid form.

The nuts used to produce our nut butters come exclusively from certified organic farms, subject to strict and regular controls. Organic farming means refraining from synthetic pesticides and artificial fertilizers, and controlling the entire supply chain – from plantation to glass jar.

In four steps. First, we select the nuts, choosing only fresh, firm ones. Then, we roast them in our own roaster – this stage brings out the depth of flavor and aroma, and also determines the creamy consistency. The cooled nuts are ground into a smooth paste, which we then pour into glass jars.

Yes. They are made exclusively from plant-based ingredients – without milk, honey, or animal fats.

Nut butters with no added sugar or salt are a good choice for the whole family. However, remember that nuts and sesame are allergens, and the thick consistency can be difficult for the youngest to swallow – for small children, it is worth mixing the butter into oatmeal or yogurt and consulting a pediatrician beforehand.
