Ingredients for millet cutlets

The original recipe was for 25 patties, i.e. two large dinners for the whole family. I prepared everything from half the ingredients, because I don't need that many cutlets :) Below are the ingredients for 12 large millet cutlets:

NOTE: Check the composition of the breadcrumbs you are buying. It was the only ingredient I missed at home. I don't use breadcrumbs on a daily basis. When shopping, I couldn't believe what was hidden in the composition of such a simple product.

How to prepare millet cutlets

We start by boiling the millet. I always prepare it in the proportion of 1 cup of groats to 2.25 cups of water. I rinse the groats thoroughly under running water. I put it in boiling water and cook for 15 minutes, covered. In this recipe, cook the groats with the addition of a teaspoon of vegetable broth. After cooking, cool the groats in a strainer.

Dice the onion into small cubes, and grate the carrot and parsley on the large mesh grater.

Glaze the onion in a frying pan, then add the carrot, parsley and half of the spices. Simmer covered for 5-10 minutes.

Form medium-sized balls from the mass and crush them on a tray with breadcrumbs. Then we roll the cutlets on each side in breadcrumbs.

Agnieszka mentions in the recipe that chops go very well with hummus and salads. I wasn't that well prepared and ate it with paprika sauce. They came out very tasty, because of the yeast flakes they taste delicately cheese :)

I haven't eaten that yet

"I haven't eaten this yet" is a series in which we will prepare together recipes from cookbooks that I have never made before. I want to encourage you to cook at home and try new things. If you think that you cannot cook, you will see that you can do it and it is even a pleasant activity :)

Polka Przy Garach, or how to cook and not go crazy

This is a book by Agnieszka, who runs a very popular blog: Mrs. Polka Dot .

In Agnieszka's shop, the book is described as follows:

"Polka przy garach" consists of 110 easy recipes in nine categories, divided into two main parts: working days and weekends. It is a script, written by life, a division imposed on me by the role of a working mother, who cares about a wise diet of the whole family. A mother who likes to cook, but on rushing mornings and busy afternoons, she does it much differently than on Saturdays and Sundays. "Polka przy garach" is a treasury of ideas for smart cooking - simple and delicious one-pot dishes, filling salads to work, instant, healthy breakfasts and a whole repertoire of emergency recipes for lunch in 15 minutes. For this a pinch of weekend debauchery - breakfasts created for unhurried celebrations, four-burner dinners, delicious but simple ideas for cakes, desserts and savory snacks for guests.
