Hemp is a plant that has been valued for centuries for its health-promoting properties. Today, however, products made of it are overshadowed by the great media discussion about cannabis - a completely different plant. Why is it worth including hemp in your menu and what products should you choose? Let's see!
Hemp oil
Hemp oil has a typical nutty flavor with a pleasant taste. It is famous for its extremely high content of unsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for the human body. These include oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids, which are present in hemp oil, the best source of fat for humans. In addition, hemp oil does not contain cholesterol, so it can be consumed by people struggling with its high levels. What's more, it effectively supports cell metabolism and the immune system, and at the same time has anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. What else is in hemp oil? The richness of vitamin K in hemp oil contributes to proper blood clotting and the formation of strong and healthy bone tissue
How can the oil be used?
It is suitable for practically everything. When preparing delicious and healthy dishes, the addition of a given oil will only emphasize their taste, giving it an absolutely unique aroma. It can be used for salads and salads, but also for dressings and sauces (the oil is not suitable for frying). Oil is available from us!
Hemp seeds - why should you eat them?
They are available in a hulled or non-husked form and are a great addition to muesli or salads. It is enough to sprinkle the salad with a few tablespoons of grains to significantly enrich its nutritional value and give it a unique taste. What is it about these seeds? It turns out that hemp seeds are an extremely rich source of protein (11g in just 3 tablespoons). In addition, they contain all the necessary minerals and vitamins. We can find here: calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron and zinc as well as vitamins A, D, E and K.
Hemp flour? Why not!
Hemp flour is extremely valuable - after all, it contains the same nutrients as the seeds discussed above. In addition, it is extremely rich in fiber - as much as 42g in 100g of flour.
Perfect for baking and cooking. Therefore, it is worth adding it to traditional flour (preferably replace 10-15% of ordinary flour with hemp). It can be used not only when baking cakes, cookies, muffins, pancakes. It is a great thickener and gives a slightly nutty flavor to sauces, smoothies, yoghurts, porridge or coatings.
Hemp is a source of many nutrients and substances that regulate the work of our body. Therefore, it is worth including them in your diet. However, remember to buy them in proven stores and with the BIO marking - then we can be sure that we are purchasing the highest quality product.
