Green powder full of valuable properties

Matcha tea, powdered into a fine green powder, offers a unique taste, strong aroma, and numerous positive properties. It has been used for centuries in Japan during traditional tea brewing and consumption ceremonies. This unique green tea was cultivated by Buddhist monks a thousand years ago. It was believed to provide energy, power, and mental fortitude. Today, as the trend for healthy eating spreads worldwide, Matcha is experiencing a resurgence. It is not only brewed and drunk but also added to many dishes.

How to make matcha with thick foam and no lumps?

The answer is chasen – a traditional bamboo whisk for matcha. Because it is carved from a single piece of bamboo, it has dozens of thin, flexible bristles. These are excellent at blending powdered tea with water. Chasen not only brings out the full flavor of matcha but also makes daily tea preparation a very pleasant and relaxing habit.

Tea that grows in the shade

Matcha is a green tea, but a sophisticated one – it grows in the shade, thanks to which its leaves have a much higher content of green pigment, i.e., chlorophyll. Each leaf is hand-picked, then steamed. Dried and ground into a fine powder. Matcha contains little caffeine, but plenty of antioxidants, which are valuable for our body. It also has a lot of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Interestingly, a cup of Matcha infusion is 10 times richer in all valuable substances than a cup of regular green tea.

Matcha can be added to many dishes

From green Matcha powder, you can not only create an energetic drink, but you can also add the powder to many dishes, increasing their taste and nutritional properties, as well as achieving a better visual effect. Matcha can be added to ice cream, desserts, pancakes, cookies, cakes, or nutritious smoothies. In this way, dishes gain a beautiful green color.

How is Ekogram matcha made?

Many factors influence the quality of matcha, such as the country of origin (China / Japan), type of cultivation (conventional / organic), and the quantity of leaves from a specific harvest. These are the most important parameters. Relying solely on the name (ceremonial / premium / luxury / traditional / daily / culinary) can be misleading, as each producer uses different nomenclature. From our observation, this classification is often exaggerated.

BIO Matcha Ekogram comes from certified organic farms in Japan. The harvests take place in the prefectures of Kyoto and Kagoshima. Our organic matcha consists mainly of leaves from the second harvest, but may also contain a small addition of leaves from the third harvest. In our opinion, this is the best value for money. It is an ideal matcha to enjoy every day. The next quality level would be +50% more expensive, and 95% of us would not notice the difference.
