Overnight porridge in 3 ways - a recipe for a breakfast that never gets boring

Are you rushing to work in the morning? Don't have time to cook? You will surely love this recipe! Overnight oatmeal is the perfect breakfast for busy people! It's tasty, healthy, and you can make it the day before! Today I will show you three ways to make delicious oatmeal that you will never get bored of! Prepare your favorite accessories and get to work!

A sweet, filling breakfast in a few minutes? Nothing hard! Since I know this recipe, I sleep much more peacefully because I know that something tasty is waiting for me in the morning. This recipe will especially appeal to busy people, because it can be prepared at once for 2-3 breakfasts. And thanks to your favorite additions, overnight porridge will taste different every time! Get to know my three variants and choose your favourite.

Ingredients

Base:

  • oat flakes - 60 grams (half a cup)
  • chia seeds - 10 grams (1 tablespoon)
  • maple syrup or other sweet syrup - 20 grams (1 tablespoon)
  • oat or other milk - 100-140 grams (half a glass)
  • greek yogurt / skyr / coconut yogurt - 60 grams (a quarter cup)

Extras (various versions):

  • Frozen mangoes.
  • Apples,Ceylon cinnamon , almonds .
  • Banana, Ceylon cinnamon, almonds.
  • Your favorite accessories 😊

Also, prepare three containers in which you will store the oatmeal.

Overnight porridge - how to prepare it?

The basis of our breakfast are oatmeal. We measure 60 grams into each container using a scale or a cup. Then add the chia seeds. One tablespoon, which is about 10 grams, is enough.

The oatmeal is worth sweetening. I usually use maple syrup myself. Of course, you can replace it with another sweetener, such as agave syrup.

The next ingredient is oat or other milk - cow, almond, whatever you like. In this recipe, I made oatmeal three ways and added different amounts of milk to the containers. Thanks to this, you can see what structure you like the most. If you prefer thick porridge, start with 100 grams.

The last ingredient is natural, Greek, coconut or other vegan yogurt - you decide. It will make the oatmeal creamier. 60 grams is enough, which is a quarter of a cup. And this is the unchanging base of any porridge.

Spice up your porridge with additives

Why is overnight porridge never boring? Because it can be prepared in many ways! Just change the accessories. You can also store the base in one large container and take out as much oatmeal as you need every day. The ready base can easily lie in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. I myself keep oatmeal in a container, which I immediately take to work.

When it comes to toppings, my favorite version is oatmeal with frozen mango. I throw them in the porridge in the evening, and in the morning the dish is ready. If you follow me on Instagram , you surely know that dried mango is my favorite fruit, so I give a lot of it. I put this oatmeal in the fridge at night and I have energy for the whole morning. This is also the simplest version I recommend.

The second version is the classic porridge with apple. One serving is enough for one apple and, of course, Ceylon cinnamon. This combination always works. Our almonds also go well with apples. In the third version, instead of apples, we add a banana - one banana, some almonds and cinnamon.

And that's it, three porridge ready. We hide them in the fridge for the night and we have three breakfasts.

What oatmeal do you choose?

Especially for you, I checked all three oatmeal this morning. They look so cool I don't know which one to choose. The mango porridge is the thickest, with the least amount of oat milk. The oatmeal with apple is semi-thick, while the version with banana came out the most fluid.

As you can see, everything depends on the amount of milk, so adjust the structure to yourself, add your favorite additions and enjoy!
