For most of us, summer is associated with the smell of warm waffles with whipped cream and fruit, which are so popular in coastal towns. Waffles are not only the taste of summer, but also a universal snack, loved by adults and children, served sweet, salty or "dry". Therefore, it is worth preparing them yourself at home - especially since it is not too laborious. The secret of good waffles is the recipe for the dough, therefore: Ladies and Gentlemen, we present the perfect waffles.
What do you need for waffles?
The basis of the waffle dough is eggs, flour, sugar, milk and fat. This is not a super diet set, so you shouldn't overdo your love of waffles. Although dry waffles have a comparable amount of calories to kajzer (about 140 kcal), but it is known that they are the tastiest with additives. We will definitely feel indulgence during summer walks in our hips, but the waffles are indisputably worth the sin. Well done, they are crunchy and melt in your mouth. The secret of a perfect waffle is in the right consistency of the dough. You have to respect the proportions and perform all activities in the order specified in the recipe.
What to do when the waffles stick to the waffle iron?
Baking waffles, although it seems very simple, often causes problems. Most often, the dough sticks to the waffle iron. There may be several reasons for this.
First of all: waffles need to bake a certain amount of time, in some home waffle makers up to 10 minutes. If you open the waffle iron too early, the dough will not be overbaked and will not peel off. Some hotplates also require greasing before each subsequent portion of the dough, and sometimes it is enough to do it only before baking the first waffle. To find out, there is a trial and error method.
Another thing: it's pouring too much dough. There should be exactly enough of it to be able to easily close the waffle iron. It should also not be opened while baking. The machine must also be properly warmed up beforehand. If the dough does stick, it may be because of its consistency. It is worth reducing the amount of added fluids a bit (not at the expense of eggs), so that it is thicker.
Waffles - how to serve?
The tastiest are, of course, those we like the most, i.e. classic waffles with powdered sugar or fresh whipped cream and fruit. In booths, waffles are often served with jams, sweet toppings or dry (without additives). Traditionalists can also try waffles with nutella, vanilla mascarpone cheese, or nut paste . Waffles taste good not only sweet. Savory can be eaten with cottage cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and basil, with a low-salt cucumber salad, spread with green pesto, or served with chicken and green salad in a more filling version. They also taste delicious with a slice of crispy fried ham.

Premium waffles
Ingredients:
- 250 g of spelled flour
- 125 g of ghee
- 125 g of sugar
- a pinch of vanilla
- 6 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 250 ml of milk
- peel rubbed with half a lemon
Clarified Butter - Ghee - Primär
Preparation:
- Heat the milk.
- Smash eggs. Separate the yolk from the protein. Beat the protein until stiff.
- Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until smooth. Add the yolks.
- Combine the flour with baking soda, slowly add the milk and butter until a fairly thick dough is formed.
- Gently combine with egg white, add lemon zest.
- Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Use a spoon to scoop the correct amount of dough onto a lightly greased waffle iron (be careful not to spill the dough sideways).
Serve with powdered sugar, nutella, cream and fruit, jam or chocolate shavings.
Vegan waffles without eggs and milk
Ingredients:
- 500 g of spelled flour
- 150 g of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 500 ml of soy milk (can be vanilla flavor)
- 100 ml of mineral water
Unscented Coconut Oil - BIO - Ecological
Preparation:
- Put all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix.
- Add oil, soy milk and bottled water.
- Stir until smooth.
- Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Use a spoon to scoop the correct amount of dough onto a lightly greased waffle iron (be careful not to spill the dough sideways).
This cake can be enriched with a mashed banana fork. Waffles also taste good if you mix plain flour with wholemeal flour in a 50:50 ratio. If you like culinary experiments, we recommend adding cinnamon to the dough, just like in the Netherlands. The addition of honey, cocoa or caramel will also add an original taste.
