Spirulina is a microscopic algae. It belongs to the group of superfoods and is often called Mother Earth's milk. To what does he owe such enthusiastic expressions? Is it worth using it every day? Let's check.
We do not know any other plant or substance that would be richer in nutrients, especially vitamins B, E, A and microelements. Highly valuable protein, iron (much more than meat!), Magnesium, calcium, potassium and the so-called biophotons (molecules in which the alga has accumulated solar energy and gives it back to the body ready for use) restore the body's vitality in an incredible way. There is a lot of scientific evidence confirming the beneficial effects of spirulina on the human body.
For one's health
Spirulina strengthens the immune system, especially in diseases such as:
- allergies
- candida,
- gastrointestinal complaints
- overweight
- malnutrition
- circulation problems,
- high cholesterol.
Both doctors and nutritionists recommend consuming spirulina regularly as a dietary supplement due to its unique properties supporting cell regeneration.
Spirulina stimulates the body's natural defenses. It contains quickly absorbed proteins and a whole set of amino acids, which is why it is especially recommended for people in convalescence or on various types of elimination diets. Positive effects of taking spirulina have also been noted in people with osteoporosis. Due to the high calcium content which is well absorbed, spirulina can be a natural bone density enhancer. This is especially important for women over 45.
Spirulina is helpful in various types of inflammation, infections, e.g. flu. It significantly shortens the duration of the disease and alleviates its symptoms.
Taking spirulina is recommended preventively or temporarily in such situations as:
- x-rays by X-rays
- severe stress and nervousness
- drinking large amounts of alcohol
- vitamin and mineral deficiencies
- smoking tobacco
- increased physical or intellectual effort
For beauty
Spirulina also has a number of positive properties for beauty. It significantly improves the appearance of skin, hair and nails . This is important for smokers, people working in air-conditioned rooms, struggling with stress, who often complain about a gray, tired complexion without glare. Taking higher doses of spirulina works like a series of the most expensive cosmetic procedures. The skin becomes smoother, more radiant, looks healthier and younger.
Spirulina also copes well with popular scalp problems : seborrhea, hair loss and dandruff.
You have to get used to the peculiar taste of spirulina. You can add spiruline, for example in the form of a powder , to cocktails, yoghurts, cottage cheese or other dishes that do not require its processing.
Spirulina: Hawaiian or Chinese?
So which one should you choose? Which will be better? Truth be told ... it doesn't really matter. Both Chinese, organic and Hawaiian spirulina are worthy of our interest. It should be remembered that the Chinese are true masters of her breeding. For example, they have been growing spirulina for many years and are doing it really well. After all, it is their spirulina that has conquered almost the whole world and is enjoying a diminishing popularity everywhere.
Hawaiian Spirulina owes its unique properties not so much to the cultivation itself, but to the place where it is grown. It is grown in specially prepared, for this purpose, pools with groundwater sources of rainforests and clean ocean water. The specific microclimate around Hawaii has no little influence on its development and breeding.
We leave the choice of the right spirulina to you. Remember, however, that spirulina requires special treatment and approach, so not only professional knowledge is required to grow it, but also remarkable accuracy. This alga is really valuable, but at the same time extremely delicate and sensitive to any changes in the environment in which it grows up.
