- Total time 35 minutes
- 1 sweet potato (approx. half a kilogram)
- curry(1 teaspoon)
- ground cumin(1 teaspoon)
- smoked paprika(1 teaspoon)
- salt (two pinches)
- Greek yogurt (250 g)
- Apple vinegar(half a teaspoon)
- dill
- garlic (1 clove)
- canola oilfor frying
Step 1
Peel the sweet potato. First we cut it in half, then each half into four quarters, and finally each piece into three pieces. It is important that the pieces are relatively even - then the sweet potato fries will bake evenly.
Step 2
Pour one tablespoon of rapeseed oil into a medium-sized bowl. This will be our marinade. Add a set of spices to the marinade (curry, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt). Mix all the ingredients. To ensure that the marinade evenly covers the sweet potatoes, it is best to spread it yourself. It's a bit of a dirty job, but believe me - it will be worth it!
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees using convection mode. Take out the baking tray and grease it with some rapeseed oil. This will prevent the sweet potatoes from sticking. Pour the cut fries onto the baking tray.
It is important to keep some distance so that the sweet potatoes will bake better.
Place the tray in the oven for 15 minutes. After this time, we will turn them over.
Step 4
In the meantime, we will prepare our sauce for sweet potato fries. The base is Greek yogurt 250 grams, i.e. one small package. We add:
1 clove of garlic (chopped or pressed),
a little dill,
half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
We can also add a little salt for taste. Mix all the ingredients and set aside for a while to let the dip mature.
Step 5
After 15 minutes, turn the sweet potatoes over and set the timer for another 15 minutes. After this time, remove the fries from the oven. They are beautifully baked and the entire kitchen smells of cumin and curry.
