What is golden flaxseed

Flax seeds have been known to mankind for over a thousand years, but over the centuries they have been practically eliminated from our diet. They have been popular again for several decades, mainly due to the growing interest in healthy food. Canada is the undisputed world leader in its production, but it is also grown in Europe. The golden variety of linseed is grown mainly in the USA, more specifically in North Dakota.

Why is linseed so valuable for our body

Golden flax seeds are an extraordinary wealth of omega-3 fatty acids, also known as alpha-linolenic acid. A table spoon of seeds contains nearly 50 calories and slightly more than 2 g of protein, as well as 2.1 g of the aforementioned alpha-linolenic acids. This amount contains their recommended daily dose.

Golden linseed is also extremely rich in soluble fiber, whose primary task is to clean our digestive tract and prevent constipation.

In addition, golden linseed is a source of ligans, protein, vitamins B and E, beta-carotene, calcium, potassium and magnesium.

And how is it eaten

The optimal amount of linseed that should be consumed during the day is 2-3 teaspoons. However, it is best to grind the flax seeds by yourself just before consumption, because our body will not digest the whole and dry seeds well.

Since ground flaxseed has no flavor, we can add it to virtually any dish, e.g. yoghurts, salads, fruit and vegetable cocktails, homemade bread or biscuits, muesli, sauces, soups, and even as a topping for sandwiches or Salads.

It is best to eat flaxseed after it has been soaked in water. The seeds expand and kissel is produced. 1 - 2 teaspoons of seeds should be poured with 250 ml of hot water, covered with a plate for 15 minutes, cooled down and drunk. Drink the resulting infusion in the morning and evening.

Flooded linseed is best stored in a dark and cool place.

You can also prepare a decoction of linseed. In this case, pour a teaspoon of beans with a glass of lukewarm water and cook, covered, over low heat for about 15 minutes. After this time, set aside to cool. Drink half a glass 2 times a day, preferably between meals.

And some other use

A decoction of linseed is also an excellent hair mask. 2 - 3 teaspoons of seeds should be poured over a glass of water and boiled for a few minutes. The resulting "gel" is drained and applied to washed, damp hair. Massage for a while and hold for 30 - 40 minutes. After this time, rinse thoroughly.

If we have some "gel: grains" left, you can also soak your nails in it for 10-15 minutes. After such treatments, they will become hard and strong.
