Organic White Basmati Rice
About the uniqueness of basmati rice
Many centuries ago, in the foothills of the highest mountain range in the world - the Himalayas, farmers grew a variety of rice that is today considered the best in the world. The grain of this variety, called the "Prince of Rice", produced long, snow-white and thin grains, had a wonderful nutty flavor and aroma. They are called basmati - which means: fragrant. The advantages of the new line of rice were quickly appreciated by gourmets. When the twentieth century came, concerns began to take an interest in the "patent" on basmati rice - so much so that there was even an act of biopiracy, in which one American corporation decided to patent Basmati rice as its invention. A wave of protests swept the world and therefore the "prince of rice" was not subject to the US patent and is still the product of the work of Pakistani and Indian farmers.
