Organic Arborio Rice 500g
A few words about organic Arborio rice
Organic Arborio white rice is a typical Italian variety of rice with rounded and rounded grains. Cultivated primarily in northern Italy, near the town of Arborio, which owes its name. Easily digestible and low in calories. Naturally gluten free.
Arborio rice is characterized by a high starch content. When cooked, it is "moist" and takes on a delicate, creamy texture. Perfectly absorbs water. It does not overcook. Arborio rice takes over the taste and aroma of the dishes we prepare.
Why is it worth to include organic Arborio rice in our diet
Organic Arborio rice provides us with a significant amount of complex carbohydrates, which are the basic source of energy for our body. Arborio rice is also a source of many minerals, including potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. We cannot forget about vitamins, especially those from B group and vitamin E. In addition, Arborio rice provides us with significant amounts of fiber. This rice also contains protein, but in small amounts. It is extremely valuable because it consists of exogenous amino acids, i.e. those that our body is unable to produce on its own and must obtain them from food.
How to prepare Arborio rice and what dishes it will be best for, apart from traditional risottos
Arborio rice does not need to be rinsed before cooking, in order not to deprive it of the starch responsible for the sticky texture necessary for our risotto. Before cooking, soak the rice for 15 - 20 minutes and then dry it. Pour into cold water and cook in a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water (or broth). Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes until all the water has been absorbed or until the desired softness is obtained. During cooking, we mix often, so that starch will be released from the grains. We do not salt. Cook covered. After cooking, set aside for about 10 minutes and then mix thoroughly. It is worth mentioning here that we cook Arborio rice al dente, i.e. soft on the outside and slightly hard on the inside.
Due to its unique properties, organic Arborio rice is especially recommended for traditional Italian risotto, paella, numerous soups, stuffing, meat and vegetable dishes, dishes based on fish and seafood, gruel and desserts.
