What is rooibos tea?

The name rooibos is a combination of two words from the africaans language: rooi, meaning red, and bos, meaning shrub. The shrub, from which the tea takes its name, grows in the South African Cederberg Mountains, a place of so great beauty that its natural qualities have been appreciated and entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The botanical name of this plant is aspalate, but it is more widely known as rooibos. Its leaves, dried in the sun - and fermented if necessary - and then cut into small, millimeter-sized pieces, are the raw material from which rooibos tea is made. The fermentation process makes the leaves a rusty red color.

Why use organic rooibos tea?

The red bush, from the leaves of which the tea offered in our store was made, grows in natural conditions on the slopes of the Cederberg Mountains. Plants therefore require neither fertilization nor chemical protection against pests and diseases. They provide a healthy, ecological and wholesome raw material. Rooibos tea does not contain caffeine, so even children can drink it; It is also recommended as a drink before bedtime, because it reduces nervous tension and eliminates stress. A cup of red infusion a day will ensure longevity, good memory and physical fitness, and protect the body's internal balance. Rooibos leaves are treasuries full of antioxidants and compounds supporting the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels and alleviating the symptoms of allergies. Do you have stomach problems or your intestines are not functioning properly? A few sips of rooibos should regulate digestion.

How to use organic rooibos tea?

Rooibos infusion can be served hot or cold. Its naturally honey flavor and valuable properties will be enhanced by adding honey - preferably from a proven beekeeper, and enriching it with lemon or homemade juice. You can use rooibos leaves to prepare a delicious and healthy tea blend - if you combine them with dried green and white tea, you will get a cocktail of antioxidants with extraordinary effectiveness and power. You can use the chilled infusion as an addition to drinks or as a tea punch.
