What is Erythritol

Erythritol is a unique product that can successfully replace the sugar used so far. Diabetics will certainly be delighted with it, as well as people who want to start a slimming diet without giving up their favorite flavors. Ecological erythritol is nothing more than low-calorie sugar ( about 0 kcal per 100g ), included in the so-called sugar alcohols. Erythritol is an increasingly popular sweetener, which is obtained from plants or starch - you can easily sweeten coffee and tea with it, and add it to baked goods - full freedom!

Where is erythritol obtained from?

Hardly anyone is aware of the fact that vegetable sugar erythritol can be found in small amounts in nature, e.g. in vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, but also in wine, beer and soy cheese.

Erythritol sugar is obtained in an interesting way. It is first mixed with water, then fermented, crystallized and finally thoroughly dried. The finished erythritol is in the form of white crystals or a powder that looks like a well-known traditional sugar.

Erythritol - why should you include it in your diet?

There is a lot to gain by replacing traditional sugar with organic erythritol! First of all, this product:

  • there are no calories
  • does not contribute to the formation of caries,
  • has a zero glycemic index . Thanks to this, even diabetics and people on a diet can reach for bio erythritol sugar.

How to use erythritol

Erythritol is a vegetable sugar that can be used in many different ways - with no remorse! It is not as sweet as traditional sugar ( compared to sugar it reaches approx. 75% sweetness ), but it is less caloric. Bio erythritol can be added to:

  • hot drinks,
  • baking,
  • jams and jellies,
  • sauces etc.

If you are using ecological vegetable sugar erythritol for the first time, remember about its proper portioning. For 100 g of sugar in recipes there are about 120 - 140 g of erythritol. For erythritol-sweetened jams, the proportion is 4: 1, i.e. 250 g of erythritol are added to 1 kg of fruit.
