A lot has been written about salt. Most often in publications on this subject, it is said that it is "white death" and we should significantly limit its consumption. It turns out, however, that we do not have to give up salt - it is enough to change the traditional (white) salt to the pink one - Himalayan. Is it really worth using? Here are 6 facts you didn't know about salt!

Fact 1: Traditional salt is unhealthy!

Why is salt unhealthy? It is not a secret that the salt we buy in stores is refined and processed. Chemical substances are added to it, e.g. anti-caking agents - e.g. potassium ferrocyanide (E-536). This salt is actually almost pure sodium chloride (97.5%), so it is devoid of nutrients. Why else has salt owed its notoriety? Its abuse has been associated with the occurrence of various civilization diseases - e.g. arterial hypertension. In addition, it's important to know that our body reacts badly to sodium chloride - it works hard to metabolize it, which disrupts the fluid balance. It is not without reason that salt in the tissues accumulates excess fluid causing cellulite, rheumatism and kidney stones.

Fact 2: It's best to buy pure salt

When choosing salt, it is best to choose its "raw" types, ie those that have not been processed, cleaned and do not contain unnecessary substances - eg anti-caking agent. Himalayan salt is currently considered the healthiest salt in the world. Why? It owes its popularity not only to the methods of extraction (it is excavated by hand from caves that were created 250 million years ago), but also to the composition. It contains 84 minerals that are perfectly absorbed by our body and do not cause the same effects as regular salt.

Himalayan salt can be consumed without fear of disturbing the body's fluid balance and affecting blood pressure. It is safe to conclude that this salt does not cause cellulite and hypertension. In addition, this salt is valued for:

Pink crystals are suitable not only for consumption, but also for cosmetic purposes - they have a beneficial effect on the skin, eliminate many irritations and support the healing process. Therefore, it is worth buying a larger package of salt and allocating some of it for making home cosmetics. One of them is, for example, a peeling for acne-prone skin. It is made by mixing fine Himalayan salt crystals with unscented soap. Himalayan salt can also be added to the bath.

Salt is a product that we use every day and in quite large amounts. Therefore, it is worth choosing the type that will not only harm us, but also have a positive effect on our health. Himalayan salt is such a salt!
