Oatmeal base

The basis for the porridge is water or vegetable milk or cow's milk. It does not matter much, each can taste very well if you prepare it properly.

Oatmeal on coconut mousse

I do not use too much vegetable milk in my kitchen. Practically useful only for porridge. That's why I usually buy a small 500ml cardboard box, and then I throw it away because I do not have anything to use it for.

That's why I always prepare my porridge on coconut mousse. It has many advantages, you can prepare as much milk as you need, and the rest will not break down and calmly waiting for the next porridge. A mousse jar is enough for a good couple of months.

It is enough to boil water and add a few tablespoons of mousse to it. The temperature mousse will melt and we have coconut milk ready. The mousse has the additional advantage that it does not contain any additives. It's 100% coconut.

What cereal to porridge?

My favorite petals are:

classic oatmeal flakes
rice flakes
Chestnut petals - slightly sweet
millet flakes
buckwheat flakes
I use the first two most often. I always have a spare jar at home :)

How many porridge flakes for one person?

I usually use 60-70g of cereal, I am not able to eat more.

How much milk for porridge?

You can take a 2: 1 rule. Twice as much water as flakes. So for a glass of cereals (a portion for 2 people), let's give 2 cups of water / milk.

If you give a little too little or too much, nothing will happen. You can always add some water if the porridge is still too hard or boil it a little longer if you give too much. Just do not overdo it :) It's better to give less and pour more than too much. It's a safer solution.

Ingredients for the preparation of porridge

To prepare my porridge you need:

Oatmeal
Coconut mousse
Cashews
Plum syrup
Chocolate drops
Additions to porridge

The best additions are porridge is fresh fruit like apples, bananas, pears, dates. You can also use dried fruits like apricots, dates or plums. I also often add cashews or almonds.

How to sweeten porridge?

If you do not use very sweet additives such as dates, the porridge may not be sweet enough for you.

To sweeten porridge you can use:

xylitol
erythritol
sweet syrups
coconut sugar
sugar cane
