Chia - what is it?
Chia seeds, in Polish called sage Spanish, is the South American equivalent of our linseed. Chia, just like in Poland, has the ability to gel liquids - dry grains just pour milk, water or juice, mix properly and set aside for a few hours in the fridge. During this time, the liquid turns into jelly.
Chia seeds are a rich source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, in optimal proportions. It is also a source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Chia contains vitamins: E, B1, B3, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc and niacin. In addition, it has a high content of fiber (about 25%), which has a beneficial effect on the digestive system. Do not forget that these seeds are a rich source of calcium, they slow down the absorption of sugars and help regulate their level in the blood. One can be tempted to say that these seeds are simply an ideal choice. Their composition determines their popularity, however, many people do not know how to use these healthy seeds.

Most often, he uses chia seeds, adding them to fruit cocktails and porridge for breakfast. First, we prepare the foam / jelly from the seeds. For this purpose, pour a sufficient amount of water into the container and add the seeds to the mixing (we can use a whisk for this purpose). We do not allow lumps to form. Leave it for 15 minutes, then beat again and put in the fridge. Such a foam is useful for consumption for two weeks. Before eating, add selected fruits to the foam - for example strawberries, for which the season is fully.
Pudding with chia seeds
Preparation of this dish is probably the simplest known recipe. Just pour a glass of coconut milk or almond milk and two tablespoons of chia seeds with any additions (bananas, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries), stir everything quickly, then wait.
With each hour, the seeds will gel the liquid, until it eventually turns into a delicate, creamy jelly (reminiscent of jelly). You can add a few tablespoons of beetroot juice, season with cinnamon, rose water or carob. In the summer it tastes great with fresh fruit, but it will be equally good with a spoon of home-made jam or jam.
